First Clutch

On July 14, after getting back from walking Riquel to a pottery camp nearby, I looked at their cage and thought I saw a cricket clinging to the screen. Upon closer inspection - that was no cricket! It was a baby chameleon!

After gathering him up and putting him in a smaller transfer cage, I looked and found "6" others. Unfortunately, two had not survived and a 3rd was so premature that it's hard to call it born. So in all we now had four babies.

Of those... Again unfortunately, two were too weak to make it. Plus one that was named Darin had a problem with his feet and has lost a few fingers and toes. He has been a strong eater though and 6 weeks later seems to be doing OK.

His brother (actually they won't really reveal their sex until around 2 months), Percy seems to be completely healthy.

I believe that the babies were probably born over the weekend and I didn't discover them until Monday afternoon. I feel badly but having babies was the furthest thing from my mind!
